What are the rates?
For a schedule of rates, please see our Reservations & Rates page.

How do I make a reservation?
To make a reservation, you can go to our Online Reservation Request Form, contact us by phone at 918.607.6881, contact us by email or download and mail us the Reservation Request Form. Before you seek a reservation, please read the reservation and cancellation policies below.

What’s your reservation policy?
You can rent the Main Lodge (sleeps 10-12) or the Main Lodge with cabins (sleeps 40-42) for lodging or special events.  Reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance.  A two night minimum lodging stay (three nights for holidays) is required.  At the time of reservation, a deposit of 50% of the reservation is due.  Your reservation is held by your deposit.  Your reservation is not confirmed until receipt of your deposit and any dates requested can be booked by others prior to receipt of the deposit.

Are you flexible on reservations requests?
We will try our best to accommodate your reservation request.

What’s your cancellation policy?
Since we are off the beaten path, have numerous requests for use and have few walk-in guests, cancellations affect us significantly.  Therefore, your deposit will be refunded if we receive notification of your cancellation at least four weeks prior to your planned arrival date. After that, we regret that a refund is not possible regardless of the reason.  The same policy applies to a no-show or an early departure. TCL reserves the right to refund a deposit with 90 days notice.

What’s your damage policy?
Guests are responsible for leaving the premises in the same condition as it was found.  Guests are asked to be careful not to damage the buildings or personal property and, if damage occurs, will be held responsible. For events and weddings, a $125 damage deposit is required which will be returned after housekeeping has completed cleanup and found no damage or loss has occurred.

What's your smoking policy?
We are a non smoking facility.

Are pets permitted?
Because previous guests have not prevented damage by their pets, pets are not permitted.

Can I bring alcohol on site?
We are located in Cherokee County, which is a “dry” county. Therefore, by law, we are not permitted to sell or serve alcohol. If you prefer beer or wine with your meals, please be sure to bring your own.

Is there internet access on site?
Yes, the Main Lodge has wireless satellite internet..

Is there satellite TV on site?
Yes, the Main Lodge has satellite HD TV with DVR.

What’s provided in the Main Lodge and cabins?
If you rent the Main Lodge, it and its kitchen are fully furnished.  You will need to bring food and personal toiletries.  If renting the cabins, they are sleeping cabins only so you will need to bring a bedroll or bed linens, bath towel, cooking utensils and toiletries.

What’s your arrival/departure time?
Check-in is from 3-6 p.m. and check-out is any time before 10 a.m.  The facilities are not available prior to check- in.

Where’s the nearest airport?
The closest international airport is in Birmingham, which is about an hour and 15 minutes drive from us.

Where’s the closest canoe and kayak rental shop?
Terrapin Outdoor Center (256.447.6666) is only about a mile upstream from us.  They are great people, have been in business a long time and will take care of your canoe and kayak needs.

Where’s Terrapin Creek Lodge?
We are centrally located between Birmingham, Huntsville and Rome, Georgia and are less than a 2 hour drive from Atlanta and Chattanooga.  We are just east of Alabama Hwy 9, with the Hwy 9 turnoff being about 7.2 miles north of Piedmont and 8.8 miles south of Centre.  Click here to view our location map.

Any special issues from being located on a creek?
Terrapin Lodge is in a natural setting on the water. Adult guests must carefully supervise children everywhere and at all times, especially when children are near the water or on the swings. TCL assumes no responsibility for accidents or injuries to guests or vehicles.

Can we come see TCL without an appointment?
No.  Terrapin Creek Lodge is private property.  TCL has guests year round and does not have a public 24/7 office on site.  Please be considerate of other guests by only going to the property after calling and scheduling an appointment and being escorted by TCL personnel during your appointment. Please do not just "drop by" and cause concern or disturb others by going onto TCL property without an appointment and without being escorted. Please inform all people in your party or participants in your event that if they need to see the lodge in advance, they should accompany you during your appointment time.
